I’m well aware that transitioning from the leisure of the weekend back to the structure of the week can be a bit jarring. But, I refuse to subscribe to the pervasive hate surrounding Mondays and, perhaps controversially, think that hiring a housekeeper can be a game-changer for any lifestyle, whether you’re single, in a couple or have kids. In our ever-busy lives, we lack time to get our home in order and tend to those little bits of tidying that could go a long way – so really, this isn’t as farfetched as it may seem.
It seems cliched to say it, but often we let things slip through the cracks. You spend too much time and energy worrying about them. You deserve a house cleaner or home maker to make your life easier. You deserve professional house cleaning, or a dedicated housekeeper. You may find it difficult to fold laundry, clean ovens and counters, or scrub bathrooms.
Your house needs to be cleaned fast for a party, or you need a hotel maid to scrub motel rooms.
Getting a new housekeeper for the home is something that demands careful consideration. A successful working relationship, whether personal or professional, must have a solid foundation, and the right match can help it to flourish. Questions of character need to be answered; one needs to ensure they’re making a sensible decision. So I posed my friends with the same query: “What do you think is the most important quality to consider when employing a housekeeper?” Below, I’ve collated their responses.
Organize and be efficient
It can take hours to clean the house because of a lack of efficiency – either due to an eclectic personality, an easily distracted mind or simply laziness. In all but the most extreme cases, you probably weren’t really cleaning the entire time if you spend hours cleaning up a room. Clany Tip: Don’t try to do more than one chore at a time. Concentrate on what you’re doing.
